IT Infrastructure Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will be filled in the Data Center Operations East team within the Critical Technology Infrastructure group. Primary responsibilities of this job include installation, troubleshooting, and repair of servers, data storage, networks, and other critical data center systems. The posting is for evening shift and the primary work location is Athens GA. This position also supports the Atlanta data center and, for a period of approximately 24 months, this position will split time between the Athens and Atlanta data centers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Two-year degree in a technology related field.

  • Vendor or industry certifications in Servers, Networks, or related disciplines.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data center operations or a related mission critical role.

  • Understanding of data center cabling standards and practices.

  • Fiber and copper cable troubleshooting.

Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and firewalls.

  • Familiarity with server hardware, operating systems, and virtualization technologies.

  • Proficiency with monitoring systems and diagnostic tools.

  • Understanding of backup systems, disaster recovery, and data replication processes

  • Knowledge of physical IT Security best practices.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, both written and oral.

  • Ability to work in both a team setting and independently with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to work various shifts, nights, weekends, and be on call for emergencies.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.

  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting (50 lbs max), bending, and standing for extended periods.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, monitor and maintain data center systems.

  • Respond to and resolve requests related to data center operations.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and operational logs.

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment servicing and repairs.

  • Assist with the implementation of new technologies & solutions.

General Competencies:

  • Ability to effectively organize tasks, manage multiple priorities/details, meet schedules, and deliver on customer commitments.

  • Ability to build relationships and work in a team atmosphere.

Work Location:The work location is in Athens GA and Atlanta GAPhysical Demands / Work Environment: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Preparation and installation of data center systems requires the physical ability to handle tools and hardware at various heights and angles. This may involve bending, stretching, and working in tight spaces and on ladders. Data centers are controlled environments often kept at cooler temperatures.
