Job Description
WR Grace is a leading Manufacturer of Specialty Chemicals and is seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor for our Baltimore/Curtis Bay, MD Plant. All employees at the Curtis Bay Site have environment, health and safety roles and responsibilities and are accountable for achieving compliance with our EHS Policy including emergency preparedness and response as defined in site-wide and local area documentation. The Logistics Supervisor will supervise subordinates in the Logistics and Warehouse departments. This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units and will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Responsibilities
Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product.
Develops and implements programs for production departments and field service personnel in order to resolve logistics problems to ensure meeting of contractual commitments.
Develops production plans based upon sales order status.
Manages effective levels of inventory of finished product and raw materials
Coordinates transportation activities and directs material relocation.
Resolves logistics issues arising in Customer Service and Grace Logistic Services (Cabot).
Conducts production scheduling meetings for domestic and international sales orders.
Interacts with international business and other various customer groups to ensure customer demands are met.
Create weekly work schedules for Magnapore and Poly Warehouse
Manage OMC IBC fleet
Process OMC orders and coordinate logistics for shipment
Maintain Magnapore and Poly hazardous waste RCRA compliance, and schedule shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous waste to treatment facility
Monitor and prioritize/re-prioritize Unit 20 workload
Physical Requirements and Environment
Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Safety knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's of Science in a technical discipline
Logistics and Supply Chain experience preferred
Hazardous or Dangerous goods experience
DOT Certification
IMDG and IATA knowledge
SAP experience
