About Team: Antibody team

The antibody team is involved in engineering and development of antibodies, with a deep focus on reagent quality and specificity. The core activities of team include design, development, purification, conjugation and testing of antibodies in a variety of immunoassay applications using pioneering tools and technologies. The goal of the program is advanced product development and creation of product specific information to promote research use.

Role & Responsibilities

To play a crucial role within an antibody development team, spearheading the advancement of phage display-based antibody development through the implementation of cutting-edge molecular, protein, and cell biology techniques.

Responsibilities:

Experimental Design and Execution: Develop and implement experimental strategies for phage display projects, including library construction, selection, and screening. Design and optimize appropriate assays for protein binding or activity measurements.

Library Construction: Generate diverse and high-quality phage display libraries by cloning target genes into phage vectors. Ensure library diversity and size meet project requirements.

Selection and Screening: Perform phage display selections to isolate specific binding or functional interactions. Develop and execute appropriate screening protocols, including affinity-based selections or functional assays.

Molecular Biology Techniques: Proficiently perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR, DNA cloning, protein expression, and purification. Ensure quality control measures are implemented to validate constructs and protein production.

Protein Engineering: Utilize phage display to engineer proteins with improved properties, such as increased binding affinity, altered specificity, or enhanced stability. Apply strategies like directed evolution or rational design to optimize protein function.

Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze and interpret experimental data generated from phage display experiments. Use statistical methods and bioinformatics tools to identify binding or functional motifs, analyze sequence-activity relationships, and propose protein engineering strategies.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including scientists from biology, chemistry, and bioinformatics, to drive project success. Clearly communicate research findings, progress, and recommendations through oral presentations and written reports.

Equipment and Lab Management: Maintain and operate laboratory equipment required for phage display experiments. Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, maintain accurate records, and manage inventory and ordering of necessary reagents and supplies.

Stay Updated with Advances: Continuously review scientific literature and stay updated with the latest developments in phage display and related technologies. Apply novel methodologies and techniques to improve experimental workflows and enhance research outcomes.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues that arise during phage display experiments. Develop innovative solutions to overcome challenges and optimize experimental protocols.

Candidate Requirement:

Education & Experience levels:

Applicants should have Masters with greater than 5 years relevant experience or PhD with greater than 2 years’ experience in a life sciences field with a strong focus on structural biology, protein design, protein purification, molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology or biochemistry and experience with display based antibody development technologies

Nature of experience:

  • Proficiency in display-based antibody development techniques, demonstrating a strong track record of successful projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of display platforms such as phage display, yeast display, or bacterial display.

  • Experience in antibody library construction, screening, and optimization using display-based methods.

  • Familiarity with antibody engineering and optimization strategies, including affinity maturation and humanization.

  • Proficient in molecular biology techniques, including DNA manipulation, cloning, and protein expression.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize display-based antibody development protocols.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Attention to detail and ability to meticulously analyze and interpret experimental data.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced research environment.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Powerpoint, Excel and possess a strong statistical knowledge and familiarity with statistical software such as Prism.
