The Senior Enterprise Data System Developer is a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Microsoft SQL Developer and Data Analyst. The Senior Enterprise Data System Developer will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our Microsoft SQL Server databases. The Senior Enterprise Data System Developer will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, security, and performance of our database systems while collaborating closely with development teams and business stakeholders to support and design custom datasets for our organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and implements Microsoft SQL Server databases, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions to support business requirements

  • Designs, develops, and implements Microsoft SQL Server databases optimized for seamless integration with PowerBI reporting and analytics tools

  • Collaborates with business analysts and developers to understand reporting requirements and translate them into database schemas, queries, and stored procedures to create reliable single source of truth datasets

  • Optimizes database performance through efficient indexing, query optimization, and other tuning techniques

  • Implements data models, relationships, and calculations within the database to support dynamic reporting capabilities in PowerBI

  • Supports migration of current reporting stack away from Microsoft Excel and into a visualization platform. (e.g.: PowerBI)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Microsoft SQL Developer, Analyst, and Database Administrator, with a strong understanding of database concepts, architecture, and best practices.

  • Proficiency in T-SQL programming, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes for data integration between various systems and databases. Familiarity with ETL tools like SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) or other similar tools.

  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance) with compliance requirements.

  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS): Familiarity with creating and managing reports using SSRS.

  • Proficiency in version control systems like Git and experience with implementing DevOps practices for database development and deployment. Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for database changes.

  • Experience in designing and developing complex reports and data analysis solutions using tools like SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, or Tableau.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server: This includes knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Transact-SQL (T-SQL), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reporting formats. (e.g.: Excel, PowerBI)

  • Ability to work with an entrepreneurial mindset, independently, focus with high attention to detail, and in a team environment.

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and best practices in database development.

  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot database issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Salary Range

USD $119,100.00 - $178,700.00 / Year
