Reference #: 4329861 THE POSITION The is actively seeking a detail-oriented professional with excellent communications skills to join our dynamic team as a Public Health Program Manager in the Pennsylvania Primary Care Office (PCO). This employee supports the office's mission of identifying areas of Pennsylvania that lack primary health care practitioners as well as managing the various programs for recruiting and retaining health care providers. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Your main duties will include assisting the office director, managing office programs, and collaborating with team members. Specifically, these will include:

Developing the annual office budget as well as policies and procedures resulting from legislative changes that affect the office's programs, Working with the office director and other department leadership to establish and maintain a primary care advisory committee, as described in Act 113 of 1992, Managing the development and preparation of contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding with other organizations to effectively implement programs, Drafting new or revised office policies and procedure to be approved by the office director, Acting as the office representative on work with the State Health Improvement Plan, State Health Assessment, public health accreditation, and other agency-wide projects, and Participating in interviewing, selecting, and training new office personnel.You may be given an assignment to support the public health emergency response mission of the Department of Health. Emergency assignments could occasionally be received with little or no advance notice and may continue for a period of time, ranging from a few hours to several weeks, depending on the nature of the circumstance. The emergency assignments may possibly be performed under adverse conditions and may require travel to another site other than the employee's assigned headquarters for a period of time.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment. 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 4 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Seven years of professional experience in development or evaluation of grants, contracts or programs for the provision of social, employment, environmental health or health related services, which includes one year of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience; or

One year as a Public Health Program Administrator; or A bachelor's degree and three years of professional public health, health, allied health sciences, drug and alcohol or related experience, which includes one year of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience; or A bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience in the development or evaluation of grants, contracts or programs for the provision of social, employment, environmental health, or health related services, which includes one year of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience; or An associ te's degree in allied health sciences or nursing and five years of professional experience in the development or evaluation of grants, contracts or programs for the provision of social, employment, environmental health, or health related services, which includes one year of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience; or A master's degree in public health, health services administration, health care administration, health education, public health administration, public administration, nursing, epidemiology, social work, nutrition, hospital administration, physical therapy, occupational therapy, business administration, or education and two years of professional experience in the development or evaluation of grants, contracts or programs for the provision of social, employment, environmental health or health related services, which includes one year of administrative, supervisory or consultative experience.
