Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to oversee the delivery of multiple Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) projects as well as expand AECOM’s energy business in the Hawaiian Islands.

This is a full-time position supporting our existing active ESPC projects. This role will also be responsible for client account management in support of large clients in Hawaii with developing energy and decarbonization projects and programs across multiple years. The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed individual with an excellent understanding of managing and executing energy projects (due diligence and construction), overseeing design aspects of the project and managing multi-year capital improvement programs for large and complex clients.

The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Interface regularly with the clients to identify project needs, communicate engineering solutions, and strengthen client relationships.

  • Working with interdisciplinary technical leads in coordinated successful development and execution of projects

  • Coordinating internal resources and third parties/subcontractors for the profitable execution of projects

  • Supporting changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs to minimize risk

  • Routinely resolve difficult issues with significant financial impacts

  • Interact with senior client officials and/or executive level client staff on significant program matters

  • Assess and manage project/program risk

  • Develop and implement strategies for expanding AECOM footprint in the region

  • Developing and maintaining good client relationships across the portfolio

  • Lead and support development of business proposals.

  • Training others to learn project management skills

  • Help recruit and build a team of professionals to support the growth strategy

  • Proven experience managing projects in multiple locations

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills

  • Experience leading a diverse team of professionals including, but not limited to: project managers, construction managers, project controls professionals, estimating, public outreach, procurement professionals, environmental professionals, consultants, owners engineering, safety professionals, risk management etc.

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate expectations and requirements with both clients and team members

  • An ability to apply acquired expertise and knowledge to solve business challenges and provide coaching to peers and team members

  • Expert usage of Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Excel and scheduling software.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or other relevant sciences

  • 10 years of relevant experience in energy services or related industry in the development and construction of large and complex capital projects for a diversified client base

  • 2 years of experience in a leadership position managing implementation teams

  • Experience with Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPC)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with constructing projects in the State of Hawaii.

  • Working knowledge of labor laws and other governing regulatory requirements for the state

  • Direct experience working with higher education clients

  • A track record of leveraging relationships to expand work with existing clients, identify new clients and recruit and retain in-house staff

  • PE or PMP certification

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $125,000.00 - $210,000.00.
