Parsons Corporation Quantity Surveyor - MEP in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor - MEP to join our team for an Oceanarium construction project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Quantity Surveyor (MEP) will play a pivotal role in the execution of quantity surveying activities related to the project. This position will be responsible for overseeing cost estimation, procurement, contract management, and cost control processes to ensure the project is delivered within budget and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Utilize your expertise to prepare accurate cost estimates for MEP engineering works, including materials, labor, and equipment.

  • Collaborate with the project team to develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and contractual obligations.

  • Lead procurement activities, including tendering processes, evaluation of bids, and negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Manage contractual agreements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

  • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and measurements from engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Analyze and evaluate variations, claims, and change orders, providing timely recommendations and solutions to mitigate risks and maximize profitability.

  • Implement robust cost control measures to monitor project expenditure against budget allocations.

  • Generate comprehensive reports and forecasts on project costs, cash flow projections, and financial performance, providing insights to project stakeholders.

  • Identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact project costs and schedules and develop strategies to mitigate risks effectively.

  • Work closely with the project team to anticipate and address challenges proactively, ensuring the successful delivery of the project.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) in quantity surveying and cost management, with a focus on large-scale construction projects with minimum 3yrs+ experience in GCC (KSA experience ideally).

  • Proficiency in industry-standard quantity surveying software and tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, PQS) is highly desirable.

  • Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control methodologies.
