Amazon Senior Cloud Application Architect (CAA), EMEA FR SDT in Lyon, France

Description

As a Senior Cloud Application Architect, you will be engaged in complex projects with autonomy and discretion, often involving multiple Amazon and customer teams.

On a daily basis, you will work with customers and partners, guiding and supporting them through planning, prioritization and delivery of complex transformation initiatives, while collaborating with relevant Sales and Service Teams. You will help with designing and delivering of solutions that solve for new levels of complexity, scale and performance, and in turn, enable breakthrough innovations. You will create and apply frameworks, methods, best practices and artifacts that deliver prescriptive guidance to customers, and publish and present them in large forums and across various media platforms.

We’re looking for French speaking candidates who are passionate about:

• Working on the cutting edge of innovative AWS products and services

• Maintaining domain knowledge and expertise in mainstream enterprise operations management tooling

• Implementing and extending frameworks and methodologies commonly used by enterprises to achieve operational maturity

• Architecting large-scale solutions, which integrate smoothly in hybrid operating models for existing operational infrastructure functions

• Creating code assets, tools and connectors to accelerate customer projects

• Setting-up and configuring AWS services in-line with best practices

• Coaching customers and partner teams to be self-sufficient

This role is a customer-facing role requiring the ability to travel for projects within the FR EMEA South Area. The preferred location for this role is Lyon.

Basic Qualifications

• Multiple years of large-scale software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in two or more of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Node.js, .NET, Python, PHP or Ruby

• Hands-on experience with software engineering best practices (code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and deployment, release and change management)

• Proven experience in designing and building highly available, resilient, large-scale distributed systems

• Exposure to Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices

• Excellent French and English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Architecting, designing and developing applications on the AWS platform

• Exposure to Agile software development and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g. Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation)

• Continuous Integration (CI) tools (e.g. AWS Code Pipeline, Jenkins, Gitlab, Circle-CI)

• Presenting at public events such as technology conferences, hackathons, etc.

• Experience working directly with customers, partners or third-party developers

• Blogging or writing technical articles or contributing to an open-source project for new and existing technologies or application architecture and design
