Google Program Manager, Data Center Environmental, Health and Safety in Phoenix, Arizona

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience working in an industrial setting (e.g., warehouses, plants, manufacturing, fabrication facilities, etc.).

  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Earth Science, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

  • Certification in Board of Certified Safety Professionals (CSP) or equivalent agency.

  • 5 years of experience in risk management with environmental, health and safety issues.

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Experience communicating with Federal, State, and Local Authorities regarding EHS issues.

Google Data Centers (GDC) is planning for the next wave of data center growth and has built an effective Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program to scale compliance and safety excellence in the design, construction, commissioning, deployment and operations of data centers.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting EHS programs including management system implementation, environmental compliance programs. You will play a critical part in ensuring EHS issues are identified and addressed by working collaboratively with a cross-functional team of GDC departments and contractors to protect Google’s interests. You will also provide program leadership and oversight to new and critical EHS initiatives to create and iterate our EHS program.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Identify and evaluate operational environmental, health and safety risks for impact to the business, analyzing risk scenarios to determine their potential impact to the business and design programs to mitigate those risks.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety regulations including environmental permits/programs.

  • Investigate and analyze incident reports involving work‐related injuries and illnesses and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.

  • Conduct assessments of existing environmental, health and safety programs to ensure alignment with regional Google Data Center strategy, including analyzing environmental, health and safety business risks and identifying, describing and estimating efficiencies to be gained through established programs.

  • Assess environmental, health and safety training needs based on identified operational risks and ensures that workforce training activities are provided to meet business and legislative requirements.
