Siemens Energy Technical Sales Specialist for Digital Grid in Raleigh, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Junior Technical Sales Expert Digital, you are responsible for driving our targets on digital offerings, with a focus on Grid Automation and consulting. You utilize your technical expertise to conduct competitive analysis and define the best opportunities for success to drive growth and expansion. Engaging with customers, you present technical solution concepts, explain benefits, and build strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. You analyze the market and together with our Hub Sales team, you bring our digital and grid automation professional services, systems and solutions to the market, providing customers with a unique critical perspective on improving their business by utilizing the Siemens Energy's digital and grid automation portfolio.

Additionally, you play a key role in proposal management and contribute to strategic decision-making together with the execution unit. Your proficiency in electrical engineering, automation, and grid control technologies combined with your analytical skills make a significant impact on the overall success of the business.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will develop growth opportunities, sales pipeline with existing and new customers in conjunction with the execution unit.

  • You will support cost price data, optimization, and value intelligence for individual sales opportunities.

  • You will be the sales support and administrative procedures within the sales process including technical scope and offering, risk review, costing, and winning proposals.

  • In this position, you will provide proactive support to execution units in Grid Automation by assisting them in the preparation of bids and conducting competitive analysis. Furthermore, you will be responsible for identifying key aspects of business models together with the execution units and strategic business growth is performed.

  • You will participate in customer meetings to explain the benefits and use cases. You will be responsible for identifying and creating high-quality leads and opportunities. Maintaining and developing customer relationships throughout the sales cycle will also be part of your role.

  • Actively provide market feedback to research and development team or execution units enabling them to develop the most advanced network control solutions for the future network.

  • Travel within North America

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-7 years of experience in electrical engineering, automation, or similar field. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.

  • Consulting background is considered as an added advantage.

  • Moderate experience in external customer-facing sales, preferably in digital products and services or electrical system studies

  • Engineering or project management background is considered as an advantage

  • Expert knowledge in technical problem analysis and a high-level understanding of the international solutions business are essential.

  • Able to identify business opportunities and provide expertise in translating customer requirements into Grid Automation topics

  • Customer focused, Result oriented, Team Player with Strong Analytical Thinking.

  • Additionally, your analytical ability and result-oriented approach will enable you to provide suitable solutions and compelling arguments.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
