Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect (Cloud Operations)-Army Office of Enterprise Management

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and execution of Enterprise Scale Application Architecture and Migration strategies into Commercial Cloud Environments.

  • Design, develop and document comprehensive Application Architecture logical and entity framework Designs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.

  • Offer technical expertise to support application assessments, aiding in decisions regarding rehosting, re-platforming, refactoring/replacement, retirement, or retention of applications to optimize mission requirements.

  • Provide ongoing support for application operations and enhancements post-migration to the cloud, ensuring seamless functionality and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Application Architecture, Design, Refactoring, microservices, and web services.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in architecting and designing applications for a minimum of 3 years.

  • 2 - 3 years of practical experience in designing cloud solutions, preferably with AWS.

  • Understands and practices agile software development methodologies.

  • Familiarity and experience with the 7 Rs in software development used in Agile methodologies

  • Demonstrated experience in structured design and documentation of cloud architectures, including diagrams, description of components, and their interactions

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to obtain US DoD Security Clearance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher is desired.

  • Proficiency in AWS PaaS Services, including integration of Databases, VMs, and Low Code/No Code solutions.

  • Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Advanced knowledge in technical domains such as serverless architecture and Low Code/No Code Analytics Applications.

  • Expertise in AWS/Azure DevSecOps Services, specifically in AWS and/or Azure Pipeline-based CI/CD software releases and code branch workflows.

  • Experience with Visio or similar diagramming tools for technical documentation and visualization.

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) would be a plus.

The compensation range for this role is up to 160k based on the function, education, experience and qualifications of the applicants.
