KQED Membership Operations Intern in San Francisco, California

This is a paid internship, working 16 hours per week from July 8th, 2024 through December 20th 2024. Current Salary is $18.07 per hour. 

Position Summary: 

The Membership Operations team is responsible to support and provide Digital Fundraising, On-Air Pledge, Signal Society, Donor Relationship, Events, Finance, Member Services, Development, and Membership Operations with the data needed to make data informed decisions. The team serves as the central data hub for the organization. The team is responsible for enhancing the member/donor experiences by implementing, integrating and automating systems and processes. The Membership Operations intern will have many responsibilities including writing reports, creating dashboards, writing scripts/code for automating processes, mining of data sets for insights, and supporting the team. The intern will also be participating in projects allowing them to complete the internship with a deliverable that can be used in their future job search.

This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters (https://www.kqed.org/campaign21)  and working remotely. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Essential Functions: 

  • Help develop new reports, dashboards, insights and analyses that inform organizational decisions and help us continue to engage our members/donors/audiences while enhancing their experiences

  • Support research projects with analysis and learnings

  • Develop routines using SQL and Python to automate regular tasks

  • Execute quantitative analyses that translate data into actionable insights

  • Build visualizations that provide insight

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Experience Required: 

•  Ability to write SQL and Python for data analysis

• Ability to work with Google Big Query and Google Data Studio/Looker Studio

• Intellectual curiosity for data-driven products

• Experience with data analysis and visualization

• Excellent writing and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Problem-solving acumen

• Capacity to balance multiple responsibilities

• Ability to work independently

• Comfortable working with various stakeholders

• Knowledge of CRMs is a plus
