RTL Networks, Inc Senior Database Administrator / Stennis in Stennis Space Center, Mississippi

This position is for a Senior Database Administrator with a company at Stennis Space Center.

Summary: RTL Networks is seeking a Senior Database Administrator with experience in data architecture, database administration, data dissemination, and data science. This support requires a thorough knowledge of a variety of database types (i.e., hierarchical, network, object-oriented, relational, and NoSQL).

Duties and Responsibilities: Designs data models, data flow, interfaces, and infrastructure to support NAVOCEANOPSCOM and subordinate commands. Design, architect, implement, and maintain databases to store, retrieve, and access data for a variety of uses. Ensure interoperability and usability in existing databases used by NAVOCEANOPSCOM and subordinate commands. Identify, define, and implement database security requirements. Analyze and plan for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements. Maintain database management systems software, including patching and upgrades. Monitor and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance. Perform backup and recovery of databases to ensure data integrity. Perform configuration management, problem management, capacity management for databases and data management systems. Implement data management standards, requirements, and specifications. Configure and optimize database management systems and software. Maintain directory replication services that enable information to replicate automatically from rear services to forward units via optimized routing. Maintain information exchanges through publish, subscribe, and alert functions that enable users to send and receive critical information as required. Manage the compilation, cataloging, caching, distribution, and retrieval of data. Provide recommendations on new database technologies and architectures. Support incident management, service-level management, change management, release management, continuity management, and availability management for databases and data management systems. Prepare data for discovery, interpretation, and communication of meaningful patterns. Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols. Monitor usage, transaction volumes, response times, and concurrency levels of the database. Design and implement reporting and audit trails for security and forensic analysis.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics-intensive discipline OR Security+, GSEC, SSCP. 4 years of experience with increasingly complex and progressive involvement in performing systems and data analysis and maintenance across a variety of database management systems. Experience with managing, maintaining, and optimizing database management systems and software, including patching and upgrades. Experience with configuring and documenting database systems to be compliant with DoD STIG requirements. Knowledge of data management standards, requirements, specifications, and security.

Required Certification(s): Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics-intensive discipline OR Security+, GSEC, SSCP.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time. Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.

Security Clearance Requirements: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top-Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.
