STAFF ACCOUNTANT - VALLEY STREAM

Anna Parson at Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented, motivates Staff Accountant for a Progressive Financial Services Client

Staff Accountant will be tasked with assisting the CFO/Controller with maintaining accurate financial records, recording banking transactions, preparing financial reports, and helping with budget control.

As the Staff Accountant you will:

• Manage and oversee daily financial transactions

• Monitor and track expenditures and profits

• Prepare balance sheets and income statements

• Perform regular financial analysis

• Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations

• Detect discrepancies in financial records

• Create reports on profit and loss, and other key financial metrics

• Assist with the preparation of the organization's budget

• Stay up-to-date with accounting laws and standards

• Communicate the organization's financial status to management and executives

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

• CPA or CMA certification preferred

• At least 2-3 years of experience in accounting position

• Profound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel

• Experience with accounting software and databases

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data

• Strong analytical thinking skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication
