ActioNet, Inc SME Technical Writer in Vienna, Virginia

ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a SME Software Quality Assurance Engineer & Tester requiring a Secret Clearance located in Vienna, VA. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense. In this role, you will be responsible for writing technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instruction

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments

  • Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met.

  • Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management.

  • Decision-making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.

  • May supervise others.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 11+ years’ experience of Technical Writing in support of IT Software Development projects.

  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures for the team.

  • Review and edit Security documents.

  • Develop PowerPoint presentations.

  • Design and write technical illustrations as needed to facilitate understanding of technical material and upon customer request.

  • Compile minutes and action items for customer meeting, and other teleconferences upon request.

  • Provide monthly team accomplishment report and customer satisfaction report. Develop other documentations as requested by the customer.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with technical personnel and to derive technical design details for technical publications.

  • High proficiency with English grammar/usage.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of publications design concepts.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce quality documents within compressed schedules. Expertise with document publishing tools including advanced Microsoft (MS) Word, Adobe PDF and PowerPoint functions, including use of document templates and styles. Proficiency with graphics development tools including Visio.

  • Demonstrates ability to translate complex business and system concepts for communication to diverse audiences and to perform business process analysis and accurately capture process information for use within documentation products.

  • Has the ability to provide team members with MS Word and Excel problem-solving support.

  • Ability to develop documentation standards and development procedures when none are present.

  • Active Secret Clearance
