Data Engineer

Looking for an exciting opportunity to have a high impact on business as a data engineer? Interested in the future of mobility? We’re seeking for a skilled Data Engineer to help define the future of driving and fleet intelligence! Our team is developing a tool to assess and reduce fleet risks by using vehicle’s telemetry data and transforming it into driving behaviors that are correlated with risks. This is a hybrid/remote role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office.

What the day will look like for you

You will be responsible for: - Developing new data transformation IoT pipelines processing geospatial data - Maintaining data pipelines - Contributing to the definition and evolution of our data architecture with mixed streaming and batch processing - Developing creative solutions for large scale data processing problems with a very talented team.

The work our data engineering team develops has a direct impact on business development and new features. You’ll work closely with a team of data scientists to constantly improve data models that assess driving risks using real telematics data. Work with a remote first mindset with very light meeting schedules. The team’s schedule privileges focused and productive time for developers to promote creativity and initiative. We foster people to always leave the code better than it was before, promoting continuous improvement by providing time to invest in recognized improvement opportunities.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Technical requirements for this opportunity include: - Scala (required) and Python (desirable) - ETL development using streaming frameworks, preferably Apache Flink (Spark Streaming, Kafka Streams, etc is also positive) - ETL development using AWS EMR and Apache Spark for batch processing. - Apache Airflow - AWS (other cloud providers to be considered such as GCP or Azure)
