Here’s the Gist:

As a Field Application Engineer on the Automotive Sales Team, you will provide technical support to customers and position our SiC power devices in automotive applications including; Inverter, OBC, DC-DC & emerging applications.  Additional responsibilities include; converting opportunities into design wins in order to meet and exceeding revenue targets for the assigned accounts.  This position’s is remote but it is highly desirable if the individual is located either in the Detroit, Michigan or Silicon Valley area.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Qualify opportunities and determine if there is a fit for SiC power and RF devices.
  • Support the customer through the design cycle from sample, prototype, pilot, pre-production, to production.
  • Experiences with inverter and converter design; component selection, loss calculation, layout, magnetics design plus fundamental knowledge of different semiconductor devices; Diodes, BJTs, JFETs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, etc.
  • Meet and exceed Wolfspeed’s assigned revenue on continuous growth targets.
  • Familiarity in supporting the sales team to develop territorial and strategic account plans to support revenue targets consistent with business unit strategies.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Qualifications):

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in Field Applications Engineering or Development Engineer either at a Tier1 or Automotive OEM ideally
  • Ability to travel frequently to customer sites as necessary
  • Strong motivation and ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and business environments
