Job Overview for the Functional and Automation Test Engineer:

Functional and Automation Test Engineer supporting a large Agile software development and modernization project providing Independent Verification, Validation and Testing (IVVandT) services from proof-of-concept phase through production and maintenance to ensure products and developments are ready for the production environment. The candidate will provide support in conducting manual and functional testing, integration interface test plans and estimates, automated test development and executing of automated and other service test scripts, and reporting/tracking defects within JIRA and other tools.

• The candidate will support the customer and will work closely with the Test Lead and Manager to ensure work is consistent with the methodologies and established test approaches of the team.
• Duties include but are not limited to: Develop/utilize test plans/scripts for assigned projects Perform application testing to ensure program changes are functional and are following established standards
• Work with Test Automation Engineers to assist in design test data to develop automated test scripts
• Create and maintain scripts for the Automation Library
• Work with developers, business analysts, and end user groups to identify / resolve issues with system changes
• Test new and legacy custom applications, with the use of formal test cases / scripts
• Assist the development team in debugging and reproducing reported issues
• Gain and maintain familiarity with all operating environments
• Work in collaboration with the customer and other contractors to ensure that testing is completed in a timely manner
• Provide status to Program Management during regular meetings

Required Qualificationsfor the Functional and Automation Test Engineer:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
• Senior level 12+ years, Mid-level 5-12 and Junior 2-5 years experience
• Experience with descriptive programming and creating or maintaining an automation framework Automation Testing.
• Test Engineers shall be knowledgeable in the following common automation tools: LoadRunner - Performance, Unified Functional Test (UFT) - UI, Java - TestNG/Junit, Cobertura/Jacoco - Unit Coverage, RestEASY (Java) - API, Katalon - API and UI, Selenium - UI, Jmeter - Performance, Axe Monitor, Comply and WorldSpace -Jenkins - CI/CD Promotion, Reports and Scans, and Xray - Jira Test Plan/Report management tool.

Desired Qualificationsfor the Functional and Automation Test Engineer:

• DHS' Active EOD/BI or Suitability clearance.
• Key experience with automation testing tools including SQL, Frontend and Backend Testing, Web
• Experience with Selenium Web Driver, and Lean FT is a plus
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments is a plus
• Experience at DHS is a plus
• Must be able to transport self between two locations if necessary
